Read my Lips! is a group exhibition by curator Paco Barragán
Read my Lips! The True Story Behind the Representation of the Death of Osama Bin Laden is a group exhibition with an intersiciplinary approach that analyzes diverse visual texts, with different levels of iconicity, discursivity and credibility. It will focus on images surrounding the death of Osama Bin Laden, such as newspaper reports, interpretations of artists and the movie Zero Dark Thirty, which all convey a different image of the same event. The exhibition, including a public programme of four debate evenings, not only researches the persuasive power of and manipulation through images in the media and entertainment industry, but also examines the power of visual art to confront this and offer an alternative.
